Image Processing

Image Processing is an area of information science and engineering of growing importance with a wide range of applications, including:

- Video conferencing
- TV (television) broadcasting
- Radar and infrared imaging
- Industrial imaging systems
- Video surveillance and security system
- Computed Radiography
- MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan
This course will contribute to the consolidation of a student’s mathematical knowledge and programming skills, by the solution of problems on multidimensional signal processing, of which image processing is a special case. It also enables students todevelop their skillsets to work on the aforementioned applications of image processing.
